SMALL CLASS SIZE
(MAX 8 STUDENTS)
The class size of NO MORE than 8 students is absolutely essential to our Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) visual learning method. In our class, every student will get a chance to speak. The small class size also means we can easily customise the learning speed for each individual student.

Since 2011, Alex has been successfully taking students through a 2-3 grade jump. Every lesson is carefully curated to be enriching and refreshing while sticking closely to the MOE syllabus. Our classes are a perfect fit for any student struggling with their combined, pure or IP Physics grades across all secondary levels.

OUR PREDICT-OBSERVE-EXPLAIN (POE) VISUAL TEACHING PEDAGOGY
PREDICT
Even before diving into concepts, we encourage students to tap on their existing knowledge to make predictions. E.g. "What do you think will happen when I put the balloon near the fire?"; "What will you see when I put a glass of water in front of the card?"
OBSERVE
We perform the demonstration and allow students to observe what happens. It's okay even if they don't have the right answers. A lot of learning is enhanced by addressing alternative conceptions, after all.
EXPLAIN
Here's where we link up the demonstrated phenomenon to the relevant concepts for meaningful and deep learning.

Indeed, the premise behind POE is pretty simple.
Then why isn't this teaching method better utilized in schools?
Wouldn't this be an amazing teaching method, especially for students who are kinaesthetic or visual learners?
Unfortunately, this teaching method becomes diluted and less engaging the larger your audience is. Imagine going one-by-one in a class of thirty students and encouraging them to voice their unique observations.
With no more than 8 students in each class, we ensure that every student gets to actively participate in and benefit from this POE approach.

Alex attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University and his Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore.
Alex has more than 12 years of teaching experience in 'O' Level Physics and Lower Secondary Science. Over the years, he has mentored students in Science projects, conducted Applied Learning Programmes (ALP) in Science for the lower secondary level, and taught students with varying ability levels in various MOE and IP schools. He believes that teaching and learning should be dynamic and fun to engage learners with different learning styles and abilities.

What is the class size?All our classes are kept to a maximum of 8 students to ensure that each student receives the attention and guidance they need to excel.

Do you charge material fees on top of the monthly tuition fees?Nope! Notes, worksheets and other learning resources are provided by TPC at no extra cost.

What happens if I miss a class? Are there replacement classes?You will be allowed to attend a replacement class of the same level within the week. The academic week starts on Wednesday and ends on Sunday. Prior arrangement is required and subject to availability. There is no refund for missed class/replacement class.

Do I get the deposit back if I decide to stop classes with TPC?We will be sad to see you go! But rest assured, the deposit will be refunded if a month's notice is given. For more information, refer to the registration form upon sign up.
